A large number of folks in the Weight Watchers (now Wellness that Works) community will tell you that Weight Watchers is for everyone, and that’s true for the most part! Weight Watchers is a great program that lots of people have success with – both for short periods of time and for a lifetime.

Have you tried other diets and failed? I know I sure have. I don’t know about you, but if you tell me I can’t have something, I want it even more! Weight Watchers is not a diet, it is a lifestyle. It seems cliche to say, but it’s true. You really can follow Weight Watchers for life – without feeling deprived. Not only that, it’s a fun healthy, tasty, alternative to the roller coaster diets we have all tried in the past. I mean, I want something sustainable. I want good, tasty food that won’t leave me hungry or my body lacking essential vitamins or minerals.

Can you devote 15 minutes a day to tracking?

You don’t have to count calories or macros, so don’t freak out… but you do have to track points. This will take you fifteen minutes or less each day, I promise! And yes, you can dedicate 15 minutes a day to tracking. Whatever you put your mind to, you can do. Weight Watchers has an app that makes it easy peasy, and it can even be fun. I make my meals on Sundays and put them in containers for the week. I write the point value of the meals on the containers so I always know how many points I am eating and when. You don’t have to do this but I find this helps me to keep track of the points I eat. 15 minutes a day to a new healthier, slimmer you. So you are busy and have church and kids and cleaning to do on Sunday before the work week. I get it. So meal prep has to be easy quick and still healthy and tasty. Can you weigh in weekly?

With Weight Watchers, you weigh in weekly to track your progress. You can do an online membership or go to in-person meetings. Both have benefits. You want to be able to track your progress. You want to see that weight as it falls off your body and you reveal the lean, mean new you. Weekly weigh ins allow everyone to celebrate your successes, helps to keep you motivated, and on track.

Do you need meetings?

While Weight Watchers meetings aren’t required, they can dramatically increase your weight loss success rate. Some Weight Watchers members find that attending meetings is crucial to their weight loss success. The meetings provide accountability, reliability, friendship, coaching, and celebrations of all successes. Many of us do Weight Watchers successfully as online members only, so if budget is a concern, don’t be afraid of signing up for online membership first.

Can you devote 30 minutes a day to exercise?

Exercise isn’t technically required to be successful with Weight Watchers, but it helps! Taking a brisk, 30-minute walk 5 times a week is plenty to get you started. Ideally you want to get to 40 minutes of exercise, 5 times a week according to Pitt Researchers. A healthy body requires you to eat good food as well as exercise you get daily. These two go hand in hand although weight loss will occur without exercise, it will happen much quicker and you will be able to keep it off forever if you follow a healthy exercise routine combined with the Weight Watchers eating plan. Can you give it a few weeks?

You may not notice results right away with Weight Watchers, especially if you’re already eating healthy and working out. However, Weight Watchers is not a diet, so you have to think long term. Setting goals like your realistic goal weight, or a certain dress size or a pants size will help you to stay focused and achieve that weight loss goals you are striving for, and the body you desire.
